Oz Update!

Well once again sorry that I have taken so long to update the blog but I am hoping to get better. We are still in the process of settling into the house and I don’t really have a specific area where the computer is set-up all of the time, but that will come with time.

Well Heath and the kids have settled in really well to the Aussie life. They have been down to the beach very often – in fact most probably nearly every day. Now Reece & Bryce wake up in the morning and want to know when they are off to the beach again. Below are some pics of the little monsters at Cottesloe Beach which is about 8km from home.
Just that some of the days have still been really hot so we have either had to go early in the morning or later in the afternoon.

It is currently school holidays here so the kids are not in school as yet. Hopefully they should start in the next couple of weeks. Heath has been looking after them and cannot really get into looking for work until the boys are sorted at school.

We live only one road away from a huge park which is on the Swan river so we often take Reece and Bryce there for a run around so that they can get rid of their energy. (Well that is what we think - get rid of their energy ha ha ha!!! Boys just never seem to lose any energy!!!) Perth is a great place for families as over the week-ends you see plenty of families out and about at the parks either having a picnic, abarbie or birthday parties. Great as everyone cleans up their own mess and then goes home to a clean house.

Unfortunately Bryce and Reece arrived in Perth with a bit of a cold which we thought we had got rid after couple of days only to have Bryce give us hell over the Easter week-end and now this week-end Reece and I have started with a cold, so today I am at home sick in bed.

We often go to Freemantle as this is only about 6km away from us. It is a great little village to wonder around and there are some great beaches for the kids to run around. Heath and the boys have also been on a few ventures using the public transport such as the buses and taxis and had a great time and found it really easy. Now all Bryce wants whenever we leave the house is go on a bus!
We have Reece organised to start some swimming lessons from the end of April for 10 weeks so that will get him going again and we are also looking at enrolling him into some art lessons as we have a art house in walking distance from us. Again the course is for 10 weeks. Very different here in the sense that if you start a sport/art etc it seems to work in 10 week cycles.

While we were at the swimming school getting Reece sorted, Bryce we saw a group of boys at the park close by being taught to play soccer. These little boys were all around 8-9yrs old when Bryce says to me "come mom lets go play soccer they have some spare balls for me to play....." When I explained to him that he was too small to play with those boys he was extremely upset with me and could not understand as there were available soccer balls. So we are going to try and see if we can find a sports school that teach little ones soccer, but I am sure he will not be able to start anything until he is 3. He is only 2 months away from being 3 but sometimes I feel like I am talking to a 13yr old. Since that day he plays soccer around the house and tells us he is practicing.......

Yesterday we went off to Freemantle fresh food market to get our week’s fruit and veg then we came home to pack a picnic basket. We were going to try and visit Whitman park which is a huge park towards the East of Perth but eventually decided to have a picnic at King Park which is Perth's botanical garden. There is a section in the park that has been developed specifically for kids. All of the facilities have been paid by the lottery money raised. Great to see the money is put to good use.

The weekend that the boys arrived we went for a drive to Scarborough beach which is in the area that I was hoping to stay in but could not find anything suitable. Reece and Heath had a swim in the sea but Bryce decided that the sharks were going to eat him so refused to swim - he just sat on the beach playing with the sand and checked on his brother and dad to make sure they did not go too far either. Afterwards Reece and Bryce played at the play park which is situated on the beach and after playing for well over an hour we had to drag them away kicking and screaming.......

Well hopefully next time my update is a bit shorter as I will do my best to update the blog on a regular basis.
Hope that everyone is doing well. Keep well and chat again soon.
Cheers
